A Cheadle businesswoman reflects on her first book

Penny Dee with her first book

vsHeadle’s Penny Dee has written and published her first book, KWEENS Happiness Decoded.

The 172-page novel, which is available in print and can be listened to, is a fascinating insight into the world of women and what it means to be a woman today. It is based on Penny’s own experiences and was initially inspired by the thousands of interviews she has had with clients at her skincare clinic in Cheadle over the years.

At the heart of the book, which quickly became an Amazon bestseller, is women’s empowerment; celebrates all the extraordinary women in the world who bravely navigate the twists and turns of life and tackle today’s complexities with strength, resilience and spirit. From work and relationships to motherhood, children, menopause and health, every topic is authentically explored.

Penny says: “I’m a real woman and this book is all about the female experience, both positive and negative. It’s a journey from a woman’s perspective to find happiness that includes the challenges women face, the emotions that shape experiences, and the extraordinary ability women have to carve out their own unique paths.

“As a woman, I sometimes feel that the world is not on our side. KWEENS Happiness Decoded is my way of showing that I’m always on your side. I want women to read my book and feel empowered, enlightened and inspired.”

The idea for Penny’s book first arose many years ago when she left the world of corporate sales to embark on her own journey of self-discovery and happiness. Wanting a new career that worked for her, Penny set up several successful businesses in the clinical sector, including the DPC Clinic on Stockport Road, followed by SKINGOAL, a luxury clinical grade skin care range.

Not one to rest on her laurels, Penny has recently established herself as a motivational speaker and podcaster, sharing life insights with a focus on happiness.

She adds: “After leaving the corporate world, which at the time was very male-oriented, where I was working long hours for someone else, I wanted my career to follow me and my life.

“I’ve always taken pride in my appearance and decided to train as a skin specialist offering bespoke skin care, aesthetics and laser therapy. My husband was already well established in permanent makeup and medical tattooing, so our skills were complementary and DPC Clinic trained.

“I met so many amazing women at the clinic, all with interesting but individual stories to tell. I was inspired by them and together with my own life experiences, KWEENS became a reality.”

Penny’s book is published by boutique publisher Book Bubble Press and is available online via Amazon for £12.99. The audio version of KWEENS is available for purchase on Audible, iTunes and Amazon.
