The Hoquiam Police Department is looking for a suspect in a shooting that happened Tuesday morning on Simpson Avenue.

Schawn James Cruze, 50, is wanted after police were called to the residence for a report of shots fired, according to a news release. After a call at 7:42 a.m., police officers arrived at the two. minutes and contacted the resident who said Cruze, who is known to him, arrived at his residence, refused to leave, got into an argument, pointed a gun and fired at the resident, who is missing. Cruze left the residence and walked east on foot, located in the 2700 block of Simpson Avenue.

Officers found evidence at the scene that appeared to be consistent with witness accounts, according to the press release.

Cruze is a white male, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, with brown eyes and medium length brown hair, last seen wearing a red and black sweatshirt and gray pants. According to the press release, he is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached; anyone who witnesses it should call 911.
