Space to Grow Celebrates 25th Year of Philanthropic Flavor with NYC Black-Tie Gala and Blue Carpet


On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, Room to Grow celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.

“…6,000 families in the last 25 years…”

The event brought together longtime supporters, new friends of the organization and celebrity ambassadors to celebrate the impact of partnering with nearly 6,000 families over the past 25 years, as well as raise critical funds needed to grow programming in Boston, New York. and beyond as the organization plans its national expansion.

High-profile celebrities and business leaders made appearances and walked the blue carpet to support Room to Grow’s goals of providing families with personalized support, community connections, and essential materials and resources from the third trimester of pregnancy to their children’s third birthday. Notable attendees included Maya Hawke, Patina Miller, Julia Fox, Ms. Rachel, Rebecca Minkoff, Lydia Fenet, Alexandria of Greece, Molly Bernard and Briogeo CEO Nancy Twine.

…to fight for justice for families and close the gaps…

The evening included a performance by the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, beats provided by DJ Lady S, as well as remarks by Room to Grow CEO Akilah King, co-chairs of the Gala Uma Thurmanand Julie Burns. During the program, the two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist Tamron Hall she was honored as a “Champion of Change” for her efforts to promote equity for families and eliminate gaps in early education resources. Including other awardees New York City Board and Council Member Keith Powers, the nonprofit Boston Bullpen Project, as well as longtime partners of the organization M&T Bank | Wilmington Trust and Select Equity Group.

Other celebrity ambassadors lending their names on the evening include Amy Schumer, Rosario DawsonKristen Bell, Dax Shepard, Renee & Matthew Morrison, Elaine Welteroth, Aja Naomi King, Kelly Osbourne, Aminah Imani, Emma Heming Willis, Vashtie, Sarah Michelle Geller, Matthew Lopez, Hi DaCostaand Rachel Bilson.
